We would like to thank both the speakers, for granting our audience an insight into their forward-looking cooperation projects, and the participants for joining the

Virtual Symposium on African-European Cooperation in Higher Education, which took place on 3 May 2023.

The event aimed to connect African and European higher education institutions to foster African-European cooperation in higher education. Funding programmes such as Erasmus + and other programmes with a special focus on Africa were presented.

Nearly 150 representatives, both from African and European higher education institutions, participated in the event. The number of participants in the parallel sessions was quite stable with 50-70 attendees per session. We noticed that only few participants switched between parallel sessions, which speaks to the high interest of the audience in the topic and presentation of the projects.
